Chicken houses

Monday, September 14, 2009

All right everybody here's something I have stumbled upon while searching the Internet it's an absolutely cool site that is all about chicken-houses! OK OK I know it sounds funny at first....but then mabey not for those of you that have your own and don't necessarily have the time or equipment to build a functional and durable "chez-soi" for you chicken. So come and check them out while the prices are low and the quality high, you can even order online which makes things a lot easier for some of us :)

I hope you enjoy being woken up by your chickens in the morning as much as I do.....

Wood Bicycles will this new bamboo bike survive?

Friday, July 31, 2009

After being talked about for ages in obscure places, the idea has been brought to life! The bamboo bicycle is now starting to appear in the garages of the rich and healthy because honestly averaging the 12k per custom unit is a little over budget for most people. But the idea is now out there, it is therefore safe to assume that competition will lead to lower prices.

And still all of us skeptics that know that even if bamboo has been proven to be stronger than steel it doesn't prove that the bamboo bicycle will be reliable. Honestly only time will tell if problems related to such a machine will be avoidable. Wood expansion temperature and humidity variations will all have a degrading impact on the structure so it is interesting to see what new or old technologies might resurface to counter the problem.

One thing's for sure whoever get's a look and try at one of these new ecofriendly bikes immediately falls in love with the look and the feel of the smoother ride and rich colors as seen above (gorgeous bike by Calfee Design).
